Authentic Ayodhya

Rama temple can be built anywhere but do the agitating Indian 'saints,' as they are called in the news, believe in the then British servant Robert Montgomery Martin (1801-1868) who seems to have mistaken Saketa for Ayodhya, or in Valmiki Ramayana? If the latter is to be believed then Ayodhya of Nepal - which also includes the river Sarayu - must be considered authentic.

[Valmiki Ramayana - which is in Sanskrit - is the oldest / most authentic Ramayana available today.]
